Your deferred benefits
Your benefits are held in the LGPS until either:
- you decide to transfer them to another pension arrangement, or
- they are due for payment.
You cannot contribute to your pension after you stop working for the employer. You can only contribute to your pension when you are working and paying in.
Your deferred benefits increase each year with the cost of living. We send a deferred benefit statement to your home address every summer. It tells you the value.
If you are entitled to deferred benefits, you cannot receive a refund of your contributions. If you have less than 2 years membership in the scheme, you may be entitled to a refund. We will write to you to let you know.
Please keep us updated if you move. Use MyPension Online to change your address or complete the change of address form
